Standard & Poor’s has release the constituents of the TSX income trust indices it announced in July.

The S&P/TSX Canadian Income Trust Index will be a composite index beginning with 40 constituents representing all 10 Global Industry Classification Standard sectors, having a float market capitalization of approximately $25 billion.

The S&P/TSX Canadian Energy Trust Index will launch with 13 constituents from the energy sector, and will have a float market capitalization of approximately $10 billion.

The S&P/TSX Canadian REIT Index will start with 12 REITs totalling approximately $7 billion in float market capitalization.

The energy trust index and the REIT index will be subindices of the composite trust index.

Barclays Global Investors Canada Ltd. has been licensed to create an exchange-traded fund based on the S&P/TSX Canadian REIT Index. This new ETF will trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
