Elliott & Page Limited has announced a series of steps designed to strengthen its overall mutual fund lineup and improve cost efficiencies. “These changes represent our continuing efforts to manage costs and streamline our product offering,” says Eric Grove, VP of Investment Funds of Manulife Financial.

Elliott & Page Limited has taken direct investment responsibility for the Elliott & Page Global Equity Fund. Robert Lutzko, who will take over as lead manager of the fund, joined Elliott & Page in1997 as portfolio manager, U.S. Small-Cap Equities. He currently manages both U.S. and global equities and is lead manager for the Elliott & Page Global Sector Fund. The fund will also be capped to all new purchases including periodic pre-authorized contributions.

In recognition of the increasing costs associated with managing smaller mandates, Elliott & Page Mutual Funds has decided to terminate the Elliott & Page RSP Global Equity Fund effective March 31, 2003. In preparation for the termination of this Fund, Elliott & Page Mutual Funds has decided to close this Fund to purchases including periodic pre-authorized contributions. Elliott & Page Limited has also taken direct investment responsibility for the fund.

Manulife International Fund Management Ltd.has been retained to sub-advise the Elliott & Page European Equity Fund. MIFML brings to the table a solid investment track record and years ofquality investment experience. Martin Gamble, who will take over themanagement of the Fund, has over 16 years of investment management experience. For the last six years, Martin has been on Manulife’s Global Equity Management team, specializing in the management of European equities. The fund will also be closed to all new purchases including periodic pre-authorized contributions.

Manulife Funds Direct (Hong Kong) Limited has been retained to sub-advise the Elliott & Page Asian Growth Fund. The firm’s commitment to performance excellence combined with its long history of investment experience in the region makes them an ideal candidate for taking over the management of the Fund. Seton Lor will act as lead portfolio manager on the Fund and brings 14 years of experience in the investment industry with a focus on Asian equities.
