Financial services professionals in Hong Kong who work in the derivatives market, will now be able to acquire an international standard that originates in Canada.
Effective immediately, the Hong Kong Securities Institute and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. have agreed to offer the Canadian Securities Institute’s Derivatives Market Specialist designation to industry professionals.
“This is an important cornerstone of CSI’s international education strategy,” said Dr. Roberta Wilton, president and CEO, in a release. “The DMS designation is the first derivatives designation to be offered internationally and we are delighted to partner with the Hong Kong Securities Institute and HKEX in this initiative,” Wilson added
CSI first launched the DMS designation in Canada in September 2000. The designation ensures high educational standards for pricing, hedging, risk management and advanced investment strategies in derivatives.
The study program leading to the designation encompasses a range of topics including options, futures, technical analysis and risk management in the financial, energy and agricultural markets.
