Bank of Nova Scotia is launching a year-long recognition campaign that will celebrate the successes of Scotiabank women worldwide while providing financial support to charities that benefit women in the communities the bank serves.

The bank made the announcement Monday In celebration of the 99th annual International Women’s Day.

The campaign, ‘Her Success, Her Way’, will recognize two women each month throughout the year leading up to the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day in 2011 and will feature a broad spectrum of success stories of Scotiabank women.

“The ‘Her Success, Her Way’ campaign presents an opportunity for us to celebrate the widely diverse activities in which Scotiabank women are engaged,” said Sylvia Chrominska, group head, global human resources and Communications, Scotiabank.

“We will be honouring women who have defined and achieved success for themselves either through support of their communities, commitment to their families, their service to the bank or by balancing it all.”

The recognition campaign will invite employees worldwide to submit nominations of fellow Scotiabank women who they consider to be successful. Throughout the year 24 women will be recognized, 12 from Canada and 12 from international locations.

Scotiabank will make a $1,000 donation to the registered charity of choice for each of the 24 women recognized and another $1,000 to the charity of choice for each of the nominators.
