The Canadian Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors elected its national board of directors for the 2002/2003 year at the association’s national conference and annual general meeting in Ottawa on Saturday.

This year’s board of industry and association leaders, headed by newly elected chair Brian Mallard, will dedicate its term to the smooth transition of CAIFA and the Canadian Association of Financial Planners into a new single organization of professional insurance and financial advisors. Delegates and members of CAIFA and CAFP voted in favour of the merger on Saturday.

“The task now is to ensure that more Canadians are aware of our organization. That’s why we’ll be launching a significant branding campaign to raise awareness of our organization as the source for professional insurance advisors and financial planners. We’ll also be shining a spotlight on the two qualifying professional designations, the CLU and the CFP,” said Brian Mallard.
