The Mutual Fund Dealer’s Association of Canada (MFDA) has rescheduled a hearing on the merits in the matter of Paul Yoannou, an Ontario-based former investment advisor who was sentenced to six years in prison for fraud.

Former advisor pleads guilty to fraud

The MFDA hearing, originally scheduled for March 19, will now take place in Toronto on April 25.

Yoannou, a former Ontario-based advisor with Winnipeg-based Investors Group Inc., pled guilty to 15 counts of fraud over $5,000 on Feb. 28, 2013.

The MFDA started a disciplinary proceeding against Yoannou in August 2012.
