Toronto-based TMX Group Ltd.’s information service has added an e-commerce component to its capabilities.

TMX Market Insights houses the new digital platform, which features market data, analytics and applications that are available for downloading. Some of the content is free while some is accessible through payment with a credit card.

“In today’s highly competitive marketplace, modern investors are actively seeking data and applications to help them gain an edge in building effective strategies,” says Alpesh Sethia, head of digital products and innovation of TMX Group, in a statement issued on Tuesday. “The goal of the new TMX webstore is to enhance the overall TMX Market Insights client experience by providing efficient, centralized access to our growing portfolio of digital data solutions.”

TMX Group is offering proprietary content as well as data from third parties with whom the organization has partnerships. The store uses an open standard for authorization, which allows clients to access that third-party content using their login credentials for TMX Market Insight’s e-commerce platform.
