Derek Holt is joining the Scotia Capital trading desk as vice president, economics.
“Derek Holt is a highly respected analyst and advisor with extensive background and expertise in the financial services industry,” said Warren Jestin, senior vp and chief economist, Bank of Nova Scotia. “He is an exceptional addition to our Scotia Capital economics team.”
Holt, who studied economics, finance and business administration at York University and the University of Toronto, joins Scotiabank after a lengthy stay at Royal Bank of Canada.
A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and experienced economics advisor, he will focus on fixed income and equity markets at Scotia Capital, while also providing financial markets forecasting and institutional-side analysis.
