The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) Tuesday announced the appointment of three new commissioners.
The commission says that the Lieutenant Governor in Council has appointed Bradley Nemetz, Ann Rooney and Dr. Ian Beddis as members of the ASC for three-year terms.
They replace three commissioners (Rod McKay, Ken Potter and Glen Roane) whose terms expired on March 31.
Members of the ASC act as the board of directors for the organization, approve proposed new rules or rule amedments, and serve as adjudicators for enforcement proceedings, applications, and other disputes, that come before the commission.
Beddis has more than 37 years of experience in the financial services sector at both RBC Dominion Securities and ScotiaMcLeod.
Nemetz, Q.C., is a partner in the litigation department at Bennett Jones LLP.
Rooney is an accountant with 25 years experience in the profession, and became a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Alberta in 1996.
