The Canadian Association of Farm Advisors (CAFA) Inc. has awarded of the credentials of “Certified Agricultural Farm Advisor” to its members in good standing.
“The certification will become the mark of trust for farmers across the country looking for professional advisors,” said Liz Robertson, CAFA’s executive director, in a release.
“CAFA is raising the standard as to what farm and agri-businesses can expect from professional advisors,” she added.
CAFA, with a membership that includes lenders, lawyers, accountants, financial planners, farmers, agrologists and other advisory service professionals, has 450 certified members who have made a commitment to increasing their skills and knowledge regarding planning and management considerations for farm and agri-businesses.
CAFA chapters meet on a regular basis to hear a speaker educate them on new ag policy and programs and to network with other professionals also dealing with farm clients.
CAFA certified advisors have — in addition to their primary requirements — met CAFA’s own entrance requirements, and adhere to CAFA’s own code of ethics and professional development program to stay a member in good standing.
The CAFA Web site lists all its certified members.
