The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada today published the Fall issue of Credit Cards and You. The current issue highlights credit cards that are geared specifically to students.

“Given that 65% of students own a credit card, and 39% of students report some level of credit card debt, we have identified a need to provide them with tips on building a good credit history, and using credit wisely,” said FCAC Commissioner Bill Knight.

The issue includes comparison tables showing the interest rates and key features for credit cards issued by 24 Canadian financial institutions and retailers. The credit card statistics were in effect on November 1.

“This publication shows consumers of all ages that they’ve got options when they’re shopping around for a credit card, while providing them with a set of tools that can help them choose the best card for their needs,” concludes Knight.
