Toronto-based TMX Group Ltd.’s big exchanges are championing Canada’s public markets as a venue for financing U.S. growth companies.
The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) have launched a five-city U.S. venture capital roadshow in Santa Monica, Calif., on Tuesday. The TSX and TSXV will be holding an event in Redwood City, Calif., on Friday, with the other dates slated for later this year. The roadshow will land in Seattle on June 6 and in Boston and Phoenix this autumn.
The roadshow will talk up the idea of growing companies listing on the TSX and TSXV; champion Canada’s equity markets; and aims to facilitate one-on-one meetings for companies seeking financing.
“The goal of our U.S. roadshow is to engage the next wave of aspiring U.S. companies and make them aware of the benefits TMX offers through our unique and proven exchange ecosystem,” says Ungad Chadda, president, capital formation, equity capital markets with TMX Group, in a statement.
“A key part of this series is connecting leading bankers and advisors from the Canadian capital markets directly with local growth companies,” he adds. “We want entrepreneurs and business owners based in the epicenter of innovation in the U.S. to be apprised of how a listing on TSX or TSXV can supplement and accelerate their growth plans and capital markets strategies.”
