Nova Scotia’s finance minister says the province’s budget deficit appears to be shrinking.

Graham Steele says the budget deficit for the current 2010-11 fiscal year is now pegged at $203 million.

That;s $18.9 million less than what was estimated in April.

Steele, who is delivering an update today on the province’s finances, says there’s been a reduction in debt-servicing costs.

He says he wants to balance Nova Scotia’s books by the spring of 2013.
