Royal Bank of Canada’s (RBC) wealth-management division has launched a new mobile application that will allow investment advisors with its brokerage arm, Toronto-based RBC Dominion Securities Inc. (DS), to use their iPhone or Android smartphones to access their clients’ information, account activity and portfolio performance.
“RBC developed the app, Advisor’s Virtual Assistant (AVA) to help our advisors stay connected with their clients, regardless of where they are, as much of DS advisors’ work takes place outside the office,” says Terri-Lee Weeks, senior vice president, products and strategy, with RBC Wealth Management, in a statement.
Specifically, AVA allows DS advisors to search and view clients and portfolio details; contact clients instantly by selecting their contact info; organize their day with access to events, tasks, and emails; use voice to text capabilities to take detailed client notes; and easily review a client’s portfolio of accounts and drill down on account specific balances, asset allocations, holdings, activity and performance.
AVA, which is now available to all DS advisors, follows the introduction of a similar app that RBC Wealth Management introduced in the U.S. earlier this year.
“Digital technologies will strengthen the relationship between the client and advisor through enhanced collaboration, greater access across online and mobile channels and more relevant and actionable insights,” Weeks says.
