The Denver-based Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), known for providing advanced educational content for investment consultants and wealth management professionals, is bringing highlights from its certification programs and conferences to the local level through a series of one-day “Best of IMCA” seminars.

In 2011, the series will feature six events in locations across North America. The first three Best of IMCA seminars scheduled are April 12 in Toronto; April 27 in Vienna, Va.; and June 1 in Irvine, Calif. Events are also planned for Dallas, Houston, and San Francisco.

Each seminar was created in collaboration with top finance faculty of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and leading investment and wealth advisory practitioners.

Confirmed presenters for the series include Jeffrey F. Jaffe and Craig MacKinlay, professors of finance at The Wharton School and instructors for IMCA’s Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) certification; J. Richard Joyner, managing director in Tolleson Wealth Management’s private wealth management group and founding instructor of IMCA’s Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) designation; and Ash Rajan, director of investment management and guidance at Merrill Lynch Global Private Client.

Modern portfolio theory, behavioral finance, tax law, asset allocation, and evaluating investment manager performance are some of the topics to be covered. Additionally, each day-long seminar will be worth six hours of continuing education credit for investment consultants and wealth managers.

IMCA members will be able to attend these high-level events for a US$195 registration fee, while nonmembers can attend for US$395, which includes membership in IMCA.
