TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM), the manager of TD Mutual Funds, Tuesday announced it is bringing the investment management of TD International Growth Fund in-house.
Effective November 12, TDAM will become the portfolio advisor of the fund, replacing Echo Point Investment Management.
The fund will be managed by Charles Edwardes-Ker, vice president and director, TDAM. He currently leads the active international equity team and is the lead manager of the TD Strategic Yield Fund. Edwardes-Ker has over 25 years experience in equity investing.
The investment objective of the fund will not change, TDAM says, but the approach to managing the fund will change to reflect the proprietary research Edwardes-Ker will use to identify investment opportunities in high-quality companies.
New advisor for TD Private International Equity Fund
Separately, TDAM announced that New York-based Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. will assume portfolio advisor responsibilities for TD Private International Equity Fund from TDAM, effective November 12.
Epoch’s appointment as portfolio adviser follows TD Bank Group’s acquisition of Epoch Holding Corp. on March 27.
There will be no change to the fund’s investment objectives, TDAM says, but the fund’s investment strategies will change to include Epoch’s philosophy of investing in companies that have the ability to generate free cash flow and effectively allocate capital, which Epoch believes represents the best predictor of long-term shareholder return.
Founded in 2004, Epoch has 78 employees and an investment team with more than 20 years of investment management experience each, on average. As of September 30, 2013, Epoch managed approximately US$34.6 billion assets under management for clients around the world.
