Advocis is helping Canadian investors find the right advisor with the launch of a new website.
Visitors to the OurAdvisor.ca website can find an Advocis member in their area based on the person’s financial needs, whether or not they are looking for advice for themselves or their business and specific designations held by the advisor.
“It’s important to Advocis that consumers across the country have access to financial advice and that they have a clearer picture of their advisor,” said Greg Pollock, president and CEO, Advocis, in a statement. “This user-friendly site will make it easier for consumers to find an advisor who matches their needs at a time when Canadians need advice the most.”
The site also tells individuals whether or not an advisor is in good standing with Advocis and follows a code of professional conduct, completes 30 hours of professional development annually and upholds a high best practice standard.
Furthermore, the site also provides general information on various financial topics including retirement planning, tax and estate planning, insurance planning and what consumers must know before they start working with an advisor.
