The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is seeking four new members for its key policy committee, the Securities Advisory Committee (SAC).
The SAC provides advice to the commission and its staff on a variety of matters including policy initiatives and capital markets trends. It also gives input on the implications of OSC policies, and general advice on emerging trends.
The regulator announced that it is looking for four new members to serve on the committee starting in January 2015 for a three-year term. “SAC members are expected to have excellent technical abilities and a strong interest in the development of securities regulatory policy,” it says in a notice. In-depth knowledge of securities law and regulatory policy is also essential.
The OSC says it welcomes applications from both lawyers in private practice and from in-house counsel at an exchange, institutional investor, or investment dealer.
Applications are due by November 28.
