The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) on Monday announced its agenda and list of speakers for ASC Connect 2017, an opportunity for Alberta market participants to discuss issues and trends impacting the province’s capital markets and economy.
New to the ASC’s roster of industry events, ASC Connect includes a full day of interactive information sessions led by senior ASC leaders and industry experts, followed by a networking reception.
Panel discussions will focus on what’s new and what’s next in navigating today’s capital markets, emerging frontiers in market structure, enforcement in a global environment, and the new entrepreneurism.
Confirmed external speakers include: Todd Hirsch, chief economist, ATB Financial; Doug Steiner, CEO, evree; James Lochrie, co-founder, Wave; and Irfhan Rawji, principal, Totem Capital.
“We continuously seek opportunities to engage with our stakeholders, as this is a key pillar in the ASC’s strategic plan,” says Stan Magidson, chairman and CEO of the ASC, in a statement.
The event takes place on Thursday, Oct. 19, at The Hudson, located on the sixth floor of the historic Hudson Bay’s heritage building, 200 8 Ave. SW, Calgary.
